What is an Aging Life Care Professional?

Aging Life Care/geriatric care management is a holistic, client-centered approach to caring for older adults or others facing ongoing health challenges. Working with families and loved ones, the expertise of Aging Life Care ProfessionalsTM provides answers at a time of uncertainty. Their guidance leads to actions and decisions ensuring quality care and an optimal life for those they love, thus reducing worry, stress and time off of work for family caregivers.  An Aging Life Care ProfessionalTM, also known as a Geriatric Care Manager, is a health and human services specialist who acts as a guide and advocate for families who are caring for older relatives or disabled adults.

The Aging Life Care ProfessionalTM is educated and experienced in any of several fields related to aging life care/care management, including, but not limited to gerontology, nursing, social work, psychology, or occupational therapy, with a specialized focus on issues related to aging and elder care (Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s - to name but a few).  They also have extensive knowledge about the costs, quality, and availability of resources in their communities.  Aging Life Care ProfessionalsTM are members of the Aging Life Care AssociationTM (ALCA) and must meet the Association’s stringent education, experience, and certification requirements. They are required to adhere to a strict code of ethics and standards of practice.

What Makes Maxwell’s Senior Care Services, LLC Different?

grandma

Patricia Player Maxwell is a nursing professional, with extensive experience in problems affecting older adults, and the resources available to serve these needs. She provides much more than just custodial care. She understands the healthcare system, pharmacology, and treatment options, and communicates effectively with families and physicians.

She is a powerful advocate for her clients and a boon to medical professionals and families. She is passionate about older adults living life to the fullest, and ensuring that they get more than “standard care” and plan documentation. She goes above and beyond in her care, communication and advocacy...and her clients know it, and show it.

Patricia is acutely aware of the issues of finances that most families and older adults face. She has been able to save money for families and older adults, while improving her clients' care and quality of life at the same time.

We can assess the needs of the elder, and put the pieces of the puzzle together to improve care and quality of life within a specific budget. We provide consultations and care management assistance as necessary. Patricia, or her professional associates, are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Patricia knows her business, is fiercely dedicated and loyal to her clients, and brings an excellent team with her. She lies awake at night, thinking and dreaming of creative ways to solve challenging problems, to the benefit of her seniors. She is a professional in every sense of the word. I am delighted (and relieved) to have her on my team.”
